BIO
Andrew Archer, LICSW is the founder of Minnesota Mental Health Services where he has practiced Zen Therapy since 2017. He uses analytic methods and meditation to help the patient remove obstructions to intimacy.
Andrew is a meditation instructor and national speaker. He is the author of a memoir on manic depression titled Pleading Insanity. Andrew has two podcasts: The Subversive Therapist and On Mind. He has held academic positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Minnesota. He lives with his wife and three children (ages 8, 6, and 4) in Mankato, Minnesota.

THE REASON FOR THIS SUBSTACK
I started this Substack in the fall of 2024 as a means to share aspects of a manuscript I am working on: Games Fascists Play: The Psychology of Supremacy is a remake of the 1964 bestseller Games People Play by the psychiatrist Eric Berne, MD.
Games Fascists Play is based on my experience analyzing psychological “games” in psychotherapy. In terms of form—style, format, content—Games Fascists Play is a sequel to Berne’s original book. The writing channels Berne’s wisdom, wit, and spirit. More academically, the book is an examination and illustration of the fascistic tendencies innate to the socialized human animal. Whether conditioned or genetic, we each have this Little Fascist buried deep inside us, capable of games leading to “tissue damage.” This requires thoughtful attention and appropriate responses: Zen.
Uploading specific games to this platform has turned into a focus on writing more topically on psychopathy, supremacy, and the U.S. political system.
